TDC Stereo Colorist I - A Real Stereo Camera

The results with the slide bar raised my fascination for stereo photography. Unfortunately you can't photograph moving objects and it takes ages to make the photos using this method. The consequence was to get a real stereo camera. I had a look at a large online auction for a vintage 1950ths stereo camera. I found and bought this TDC Stereo Colorist I. The first thing i missed was an exposure meter. Althought the old Kodak Retina IIIc (about the same age) had a build in exposure meter the TDC Stereo Colorist had none, so i had to buy a separate one. With help of this i was able to do some photographs on my trip to Brandenburg and Berlin in 2003. Although you can use a standard 35mm rollfilm for this camera, you have to take care about the unusual size of the images on the film. They are smaller than normal images by modern cameras. You have to find someone who is able to devellop the film without cutting it. I found a local 1h photo devellop service, where i could tell the gui who's running the machine about the special condition of the images. He returned me the develloped film role uncutted. A good film scanner to scan complete roles of film is the SilverScan 3600. You can scan a complete film role without cutting it. Once i stood in a group of international tourists in Sanssouci Potsdam, everyone used his newest Fuzzy-Logic-Hyper-Mega-Pix-DigiCam but me. I measured the exposure, adjusted the lighting settings, adjusted the focus and then took the photo with my 1954 leather cased vintage camera.
